NEW GLARUS - The 12th annual Great Wine and Chocolate Trail will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 27 and 28.
The wine trail consists of six wineries: Whispering Bluffs Winery in Potosi, Whispering Winds Winery near Fennimore, Spurgeon Vineyards near Highland, Weggy Winery between Muscoda and Richland Center, Fisher King Winery in Verona and Hawk's Mill Winery in New Glarus.
The members of the Southwest Wisconsin Wine Trail will guide participants through their personal wine and chocolate pairings. The winemakers at each winery have selected hand-made chocolates that demonstrate how the intensity of the chocolates relates to flavors and sweetness levels in the wines.
The excursion either can be enjoyed as a single or a two-day excursion. The $15 trail ticket covers entrance into all seven wineries. As a souvenir, a Southwest Wisconsin Wine Trail wine glass will be included with each trail ticket. Tickets can be purchased at whichever winery is visited first.
