Habitat store's grand opening is Saturday

MONROE - The Habitat Resale Store will have its grand opening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, May 30. Food and beverages will be available.

The Habitat Resale Store offers new and used home improvement materials at discounted rates. It is located at 1001 30th St.

It will provide an outlet for the recycling and reuse of used and surplus materials while encouraging sustainable living and building in Green County, organizers said in a news release. The store manager is Robert Cassell.

Quality used and surplus building materials are available at reduced prices, he said. Profits will help fund the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Green County. Donations are accepted during day/hours of operation.

The mission of Habitat for Humanity is to improve the living conditions of men, women and children with the philosophy of a hand up, not a hand out. New homes are found in Monroe, Brodhead, Albany, Monticello, Belleville, Browntown, and Blanchardville as well various homes benefiting from weekend "Home Repair Projects" happening all throughout the year.
