MONROE - Alissa Grenawalt, 4-H youth development agent for UW-Extension Green County, recently received the Wisconsin Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (WAE4-HYDP) Distinguished Service award.
The award was presented at the group's annual banquet April 11 in Steven's Point.
Grenawalt has been the Green County 4-H youth development agent since 2002, where her programming focuses on strengthening 4-H community clubs, youth in public leadership and helping youth understand agriculture issues. The Green County 4-H Community Club program has 16 4-H Clubs, 600 members and 250 adult volunteers.
Grenawalt has facilitated a number of programs and events for the Green County 4-H program, including joint training for 4-H member and volunteers, and she is active in the Green County United Prevention Professionals for Youth Community Coalition. She has also been involved with the Green County Cheese Days and serves as the co-chair of the Family Farm Adventure tent sponsored by UWEX and Green County Farm Bureau.
Alissa is an active member of the Wisconsin Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (WAE4-HYDP) and the Department of Youth Development. Grenawalt is currently serving WAE4-HYDP as Association President. By earning the Distinguished Service Award, Grenawalt will also receive recognition at the 2012 National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA) Conference in Orlando, Fla. in October.
