Photo supplied by the Green County Historical Society
The Green County Historical Society continues to collect photos and information about each of the 120 one-room rural schools of the county. The goal is to collect as many photos of the groups of students in attendance at each school and put names to each face. Another goal is to put together a list of each of the teachers at the school and the years they taught there, as well as writing a history of each school. This photo was taken at the Silver School in Mount Pleasant Township in February 1937. If you can identify anyone in the photo or have any photos or record books that you would like to loan or donate to the museum, contact Matt Figi at 608-325-6503 or mfigi48@tds.net.
