Photo supplied by the Green County Historical Society
Sitting on the side of the box of one of the Blumer Brewing Corporation trucks are, from left, Mary Hollenstein (later Zurbuchen), Joseph Klessinger and Marilyn Klessinger (later Neuenschwander). Notice that the phone number is 96. Klessinger's father, John, was the cellar foreman for the brewery. The Green County Historical Society has a large collection of photographs that capture Monroe and Green County from days gone by. Visit the GCHS website for Christmas ideas or the GCHS Facebook page to know what is going on at the museum, even while closed. Membership in GCHS is as low as $10 a year, which includes four newsletters a year and free admission to the museum. If you have any questions, please contact Matt Figi at 325-6503 or mfigi48@tds.net.
