MONROE - On Saturday, the Green County Dairy Day Cattle Show will take place at the Green County Fairgrounds.

With almost 100 exhibitors and 200 head of cattle, it is expected to be one of the largest county youth dairy shows in the state. Due to the Monroe Balloon Rally and the Taste of Monroe, spectators are asked to use the East Gate for entering the fairgrounds. There is no charge for spectators for the cattle show and there will be concessions available at the show by the Green County FFA Alumni and the New Glarus and York 4-H clubs.

The show will begin with the Showmanship classes beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the Breed shows to follow. At about 1:00 p.m., the champions will be announced. The cattle will be housed in barns No. 5 and 6 with the show itself in barn No. 7 with two show rings running simultaneously.

One difference this year is the parade that usually follows the cattle show is being held at noon, Saturday, June 26, in New Glarus. The New Glarus Dairy Days committee chose to hold the show at the fairgrounds again this year since it worked out so well in 2009.
