On Tuesday, the Green County Board of Supervisors:

Voted to offer group health insurance through the state to county employees. Green County employees will be able to join the health insurance program April 1.

Authorized Green County Human Services to apply for a Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) grant of about $94,000 to help pay for transportation for elderly and disabled people. The county will have to pay about $18,000 of the total amount if the grant is approved by the DOT. Board chairman Art Carter said the grant is applied for every year.

Authorized the county clerk to work with delinquent property taxpayers to collect money from taxes owed in 2007. The clerk's office will try to work with the property owners to collect the money.

Recognized retiring Green county Sheriff Randy Roderick for his years of service to the county. Roderick thanked the board for its support and said it was an honor to serve the county.

Introduced John Koopmans, who will represent District 25, which includes Albany. Koopmans will serve the remaining term of Joe Cousin, who died in October.
