MONROE - On Tuesday, the Green County Board of Supervisors:

• Approved a resolution for a non-specific increase in funding to go toward the allocation for children and family aid from Human Services. The budget for the program has not been increased since 2009. County-level departments in Wisconsin are highlighting the need for more funding from the state through a county resolution, despite Gov. Scott Walker proposing a 0-percent increase. The current allocation for child welfare is $422,133 in Green County.

• Adopted Act 55, a state mandate signed by Walker as a part of the 2015-17 biennial budget which requires county zoning to adhere to a statewide standard for shoreland zoning provisions. It allows counties to regulate shoreland zoning matters not done so by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. It does not allow the county to require a buffer or for someone to expand and existing buffer on previously developed land, but requires an inspection or upgrade of the structure before property is sold.
