On Tuesday, July 14, the Green County Board of Supervisors:

• Eliminated a sheriff's department dispatch position and created a lead dispatcher position. The change is in the position's title only and will not affect the job requirements or duties.

• Eliminated the job of day shift nursing supervisor and replaced it with the job of assistant director of nursing. The duties of the day shift nursing supervisor have expanded and that person already does many of the jobs of an assistant director of nursing. Pleasant View Nursing Home Interim Director Aaron Biebert said the position will help reduce overtime costs for the nursing home since the assistant director of nursing will have one job to do instead of trying to do two jobs.

• Created a position of Director of Admissions at the nursing home. County Board Supervisor Herb Hanson, who is also on the Pleasant View Nursing Home Committee, said a director of admissions will help recruit residents to the nursing home. In the long run, he said, that could help raise money for the nursing home.

• Authorized Green County Sheriff Randy Roderick to appoint a humane officer. A deputy from the sheriff's department will be appointed to the position, at no extra pay. The humane officer will be able to respond to all animal complaints.
