On Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, the Green County Board of Supervisors:
- Approved a contract with K2 IT Solutions, Monroe, for computer technical support for the next three years. The cost of the contract is $200,000 for 2011, $206,000 for 2012 and $212,180 for 2013. The board was told the contract will enable the county to improve its computer equipment and have better technical support for its computer systems. Rhonda Hunter, Green County finance director, told the board she is satisfied the county will have quality service with the new company. There were three bids submitted for the contract, Hunter said, and K2 IT Solutions was the lowest bid.
- Reclassified nine positions at Pleasant View Nursing Home from hourly wages to salaried positions. Terry Hensel, Pleasant View director, said the positions include nurse care coordinators, nursing supervisors, activities supervisors, food service supervisor and environmental supervisor. Hensel said other nursing home directors she surveyed told her their nursing homes are making the positions salaried as a way to cut back on the amount of overtime pay. Hensel estimated the changes could save the county about $50,000 next year. The people who are currently working in the positions are in favor of the change, she told the board.
- Created a social worker position for the mental health unit at Green County Human Services. The position will be funded with money from Medicaid at no cost to the county.
