Green County board members honored

MONROE - Art Carter of Monroe and Ken Hodgson of Argyle were recognized recently for five years of service on the Green County Agriculture and Extension Education committee.

Carter and Hodgson were presented the award March 30 at the Wisconsin Associated County Extension Committees, Inc. (WACEC) annual recognition ceremony in Madison.

Carter owns and operates Carter and Gruenewald Farm Implement with dealerships in Brooklyn and Juda. He has served on the Green County Board of Supervisors for 35 years, and has been county board chairman for the past five years. He chairs the Personnel and Labor Committee of Committees, and is a member of the Finance Land Information and Agriculture and Extension Education Committees. He is a graduate of University of Wisconsin. He and his wife Patt have two adult children.

Hodgson recently retired after 40 years in the natural gas business, the last 30 years with WE Energies. He runs a cow/calf beef farm operation and drives school bus. As a Green County Board Supervisor for the past five years, Hodgson is currently serving as secretary on the Agricultural and Extension Education Committee and also serves on the Land and Water Conservation committee. He and his wife Monica have four adult children and 10 grandchildren.
