On Tuesday, June 8, the Green County Board of Supervisors:
Eliminated two jailer/dispatcher positions and created a jailer and a dispatcher position at the Green County Sheriff's Department. The county hired two jailer/dispatchers in 2003, said Randy Roderick, Green County sheriff. The change will increase the number of dispatchers to seven and the number of jailers to 12. Roderick said the change was in how the positions were classified.
Authorized Green County Human Services to hire an economic support specialists to help with the increased workload in the human services department. The position is paid for by state money. Greg Holcomb, human services director, said there was a need for an extra person to help with the increased workload due to a slow economy.
Eliminated the housekeeping/laundry supervisor and maintenance supervisor positions at Pleasant View Nursing Home and created an environmental supervisor position. The change will save the county about $51,000 in wages and benefits in 2010.
