At its meeting Feb. 14, the Green County Board of Supervisors:

• Approved formerly dissolving ContinuUs, previously known as the Southwest Family Care Alliance. The long-term care district was formed by Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Juneau, Lafayette, Richland and Sauk counties to deliver managed care service. Services are now handled by a nonprofit corporation and ContinuUs is no longer in operation.

• Granted bridge construction aid totaling $83,000 for townships throughout the county. Of that amount, more than $54,000 is in federal aid. Local municipalities also put in $83,000 for bridge replacement and design projects. Projects on tap are Patterson Road in Clarno Township; Argue Road, Exeter; Erb Road, Jefferson; Five Corner Road, Jefferson; Alley South of Highland Avenue, village of Monticello; Disch Road, Washington; and Poplar Grove Road, York.

• Voted to purchase a new 2018 Western Star Truck snow plow for $80,000 from Truck County in Shullsburg with a winter equipment package from Monroe Truck Equipment for an additional $89,000. Highway Commissioner Jeff Wunschel said the department is expecting delivery of the new plow by Nov. 1. Trucks such as this generally stay in the county fleet from 11 to 15 years, he said.

• Approved reorganizing food service positions at Pleasant View Nursing Home. The home currently has a food service supervisor/dietician position. This position is difficult for one person to fill, administrator Terry Snow said. With a retirement in that position, and by not replacing some other positions, the home can create two separate, full-time positions: a dietician and a food service manager. The salary range for dietician will be $23.90 to $29.66 per hour, while the food service manager will be $22.68 to $28.11.

• Voted to support the Green County Development Corporation in establishing a high-speed internet committee. New Glarus, Monticello, Belleville, the Town of Adams and the Town of Monroe have already passed similar resolutions expressing support of the committee.

• Approved $493,000 to Johnson Controls for mechanical room renovations at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Replacing the boiler will allow the nursing home to break from the Government Services Building, which will be rebuilt at a new location in the near future. Work is expected to begin this spring and once completed, should yield a 20 to 30 percent savings in utilities, Snow said.

• Rezoned a parcel of land in the Town of Jordan owned by Klondike Cheese from agricultural to industrial. County Zoning Administrator Adam Wiegel said the parcel is about 75 acres. Klondike asked for the zoning change to allow the company to construct its own on-site wastewater treatment facility. Wiegel said a public hearing drew about six landowners who wanted more information about Klondike's plans but did not register major complaints about the project.

• Re-appointed Brian Bucholtz as corporation counsel for another two-year term.

Supervisors John Glynn, Gary Neuenschwander, Ron Wolter and Art Carter were absent.
