Green County Board cancels February meeting
Green County Board

MONROE — Due to “a lack of sufficient business” for the scheduled Green County Board of Supervisors meeting in February, the proceeding has been cancelled, according to a letter sent by County Clerk Mike Doyle to members of the board.

The letter, sent Wednesday, references county code section 1-5-2-1. Any regular board meeting, with the exception of the annual session and the organizational meeting, may be cancelled if the board chair and county clerk deem the agenda as insufficient, according to the law, which also dictates that the board meet on the second Tuesday of each month with the exception of April.

The county code also dictates that any meeting cancellations require members of the board are contacted in writing no later than five days prior to the day of the scheduled meeting.

Doyle wrote that both he and Green County Board Chair Art Carter “have found that there is a lack of sufficient business for the February meeting,” scheduled for Feb. 12. He added that the next county board meeting will be held March 12.
