MONROE - In a meeting Feb. 19, the Green County Board of Supervisors:

• Re-elected supervisor Art Carter as chairman of the board. Dennis Everson was elected first vice-chairman and Jerry Guth was named second vice-chair.

• Transferred $206,000 from the general fund to various accounts within the overall 2015 county budget to cover cost overruns. Amounts ranged from almost $70,000 to the human services fund to $26 for the regional planning commission's account. Supervisors then approved a resolution that moved excess funds for 2015 from various county accounts back to the general fund: Those ranged from almost $118,000 for the land conservation department, the result of the department essentially returning grant money the county had advanced it, to 2 cents for the land records office for a total of $434,625 returned to county coffers.

• Approved funds totaling more than $14 million to be designated non-lapsing and transferred into 2016 accounts from 2015 departmental budgets.

• Voted to modify the county ordinance that prohibits switchblade knifes. Sheriff Mark Rohloff told supervisors that because the state of Wisconsin has made switchblades legal, after prohibiting them in 1958, the county must modify its ordinance to align with state law.
