Grassland Management Workshop to be held Sept. 17 in Barneveld

BARNEVELD - To connect landowners to helpful information on caring for land, a Grassland Management Workshop will be offered from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Barneveld School, 304 S. Jones St., Barneveld.

This part of Wisconsin has some incredible prairies, oaks and grasslands that are important for wildlife, beauty, and forage, and experts are lined up to cover a wide variety of topics, including prairie restoration, invasive species, prescribed burning and grazing.

The cost for the workshop is $15 per person, which includes refreshments, a light lunch and a packet of resources. There also will be booths and information from local service providers and time to ask questions.

Registration is required by Sept. 9.

This workshop is organized by Driftless Area Land Conservancy, Pheasants Forever and UW-Extension, with presenters from The Nature Conservancy, Blue Mounds Area Project, Wisconsin DNR, UW-Madison, the Aldo Leopold Foundation and the Wisconsin Wetlands Association.
