Engineering Supervisor, City of Monroe
During the week of Aug. 15, Rock Road Companies backfilled behind the curb and gutter, and started grading for and installing stone base for the sidewalk from Wisconsin 69 to 10th Avenue. Voegeli Landscaping worked on fine grading the topsoil behind the retaining walls and placed seed and erosion mat on the slopes of the Badger trail and behind the North retaining wall. The curb and gutter contractor, Parisi Construction Co., placed about 400 square yards of 10-inch thick concrete pavement at the intersection at Wis. 69. They started forming and prepping for concrete pavement on 13th Avenue, south of 9th Street, and in the 1200 and 1300 blocks of 9th Street. 9th Street will have a 10 inch thick concrete pavement about 180 feet West and East of 13th Avenue. The electrical contractor, Westphal and Company Inc., continued installing bases for the street lighting, signal light bases, and electrical pull boxes for the traffic signal wiring from Wis. 69 to 16th Avenue.
Next week, the curb and gutter contractor, Parisi Construction Co., is scheduled to place 10-inch concrete pavement on 9th Street in the 1200 and 1300 blocks and on 13th Avenue from 10th Street to 9th Street.
