MONROE - A man charged with sexually assaulting two girls over the course of more than a decade was arrested for bond violations Saturday in Verona, where he currently lives. The arrest, his second in five days, stemmed from incidents in which he allegedly had unsupervised contact with children.

Greg P. Gogin, 55, faces three new felony counts of bail jumping in two separate Green County Circuit Court cases.

He made his initial appearance in the new cases by video Tuesday, after which the court set a $20,000 cash bond in one case and a $7,000 signature bond in the other, police records indicate. They carry the same conditions as the $20,000 cash bond Gogin posted Friday in connection with the first set of bail jumping charges. One condition is that he have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18, which he allegedly violated in both new cases.

Gogin allegedly made contact with two boys, ages 12 and 13, who were running a Kool-Aid and brownie stand in Verona on Saturday. A Verona Police Department officer happened to be at the stand talking to the boys when Gogin pulled up in his van, according to police documents.

He reportedly rolled down a window and asked the officer if he was planning to remain at the stand for a bit longer. The officer said he was. Gogin then allegedly paid the boys $7 for a cup of juice, walked back to where the officer was standing and said he was glad the officer was there because Gogin wasn't allowed to have unsupervised contact with children.

The officer asked Gogin to identify himself and, through a search of online court records, determined Gogin had violated bond conditions in two cases by buying juice from the boys.

He later told investigators he thought the contact was permissible because an officer was present.

The second case, also filed Tuesday, alleges Gogin sent a text message and picture to a 14-year-old boy between June 5 and June 14.

He was arrested Saturday and taken to the Dane County Jail, and then transferred to the custody of the Green County Sheriff's Department on Tuesday.

GCSD Chief Deputy Thomas Moczynski said his department, VPD and district attorneys from Green County and Dane County will continue to work together on charging decisions.

Gogin has a preliminary hearing in all four cases July 13.
