MONROE — GFWC Monroe Woman’s Club was thrilled to present donations to several community organizations at its March General Meeting at Koning Maple Lane Event Center.

A donation was made to Monroe Middle School, which will fund the trip to DC for one student; a donation was made to Main Street Monroe for their summer program and also for the Farmers Market Double Dollars for SNAP; and a donation was also made to Big Brothers Big Sisters for their Bowl for Kids Sake Campaign.

Monroe Woman’s Club also accepted food donations from its 130 members for Back Pack Buddies.

April 24 was GFWC Woman’s Club Federation Day, which marked the day in 1890 when 63 clubs came together to form the General Federation of Women’s Clubs in New York City under the leadership of GFWC founder Jane Cunningham Croly. Today, with nearly 80,000 clubwomen and 3,000 clubs, GFWC continues to stand together and celebrate Unity in Diversity.
