MONROE — Green County Public Health (GCPH) is hosting an Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2 at the Green County Government Services Building, N3152 Wis. 81. This event is in honor of National Public Health Week, held the first week of April every year to recognize the contributions of public health organizations and to highlight public health issues facing the community.
All Green County community members are invited to the GCPH Open House. Attendees will be able to tour the department, meet GCPH staff, enjoy refreshments and enter for a chance to win prizes. There will also be a mini health fair during the open house, where attendees can learn more about the programs and services GCPH offers. The health fair will feature the following services:
● Blood pressure screenings
● Vaccine record assessment and vaccinations depending on eligibility
● Nutrition and Women, Infants & Children (WIC) information
● Well water testing and carbon monoxide information
● Medication lock box and gun lock distribution
● Emergency preparedness resources
● Car seat safety demonstrations
This event is an opportunity for community members to learn more about what public health is and what GCPH does to support and improve health in Green County. Community members will also be able to learn about what programs and services GCPH offers that may be useful them. Staff will be available to answer questions about the department and the work they do.
