Annual meal to be held at fairgrounds

MONROE — The Green County Ag Chest 41st Annual Green County Breakfast on the Farm will be held from 6 to 10 a.m. May 29 at the Green County Fairgrounds, 2600 10th St.

The Green County Breakfast on the Farm is held annually in May and is usually hosted by a farming family from Green County. Last year, the event was canceled due to the COVID health crisis and is now scheduled to resume, but at the Green County Fairgrounds. The change in venue made it easier for the 2021 Breakfast on the Farm Committee to plan for the event on such short notice.

“We understand that not everyone is comfortable getting together just yet, that’s what made the Green County Fairgrounds the obvious alternative for our event,” Breakfast Chairperson, Craig Kamholz, said. “If you support Green County agriculture and you’re comfortable getting together, you can dine with us. If you want to show your support for ag, but you have safety concerns, you can still receive the same hearty breakfast by driving through.”

Meals are $7.00. Kids five and younger eat free, but must be present and with a paid adult at the time of purchase. Tickets are purchased at the gate the day of the event. Visitors are encouraged to view the event poster and map found online at greencountyagchest.com for direction on parking and drive-thru. Anyone interested in volunteering or hosting a vendor, craft, or educational table should email info@greencountyagchest.com.
