MONROE - Green Haven Family Advocates announced Friday that Chandra Pelikan, program services director, and Lynn Brooks, administrative assistant, have been appointed executive directors until the board selects a permanent replacement for Alice Franks-Gray, who left the organization Tuesday.
The board of directors plans to meet next week to talk about a permanent executive director.
Franks-Gray, who had been with Green Haven for two years, said she enjoyed her time at the organization but felt it was time to move on. She didn't want to reveal her plans for future employment.
"I'm very proud of my work at Green Haven," Franks-Gray said. "We were able to talk the talk about domestic violence to a new level and show people that there are problems in Green County."
Pelikan has been with Green Haven for eight years. She has supervised the advocates and staff.
Greg Wild, a member of the Green Haven Family Advocates Board of Directors, said Pelikan "has shown incredible kindness and passion for the families that have utilized our services."
Brooks has been with Green Haven for one year and has nine years experience working with domestic violence victims.
"Both these women, plus the entire Green Haven staff, are committed to ensuring and enhancing the services of Green Haven," Wild said.
Green Haven Family Advocates is a community-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the individuals and families of Green County affected by abuse and violence through prevention education, advocacy, support and services.
