Four Iowans face meth-related charges from traffic stop

TOWN OF MONROE - A traffic stop on a vehicle Monday morning just outside Monroe city limits led to meth-related charges against four Iowans, according to the Green County Sheriff's Office.

Passenger Joshua R. Saunders, 39, Audubon, Iowa, was arrested and jailed on charges of possessing methamphetamine and meth-related drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Joseph M. Zaiger, 35, also of Audubon, was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speeding and possessing meth-related drug paraphernalia.

Two other passengers, Tony M. Mayo Sr., 49, and Philip R. Thompson, 51, both of Lewis, Iowa, were also cited for possessing meth paraphernalia.

Deputies stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation at 11:11 a.m. in the W5000 block of Wisconsin 11 and brought in the Monroe Police Department K-9 unit to assist in investigating.
