NEW GLARUS - A former New Glarus Area EMS employee was arrested Wednesday for sexually assaulting an underage girl at his home.
Matthew T. Ingham, 31, New Glarus, faces pending charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child and repeated acts of sexual assault against a child.
Ingham was charged after the New Glarus Police Department received information about an alleged sexual assault in New Glarus, when Ingham had reportedly touched an underage girl at his residence on multiple occasions.
Because of the potential for conflicts of interest relating to Ingham's former occupation at New Glarus Area EMS, the department received assistance from the Dane County Sheriff's Department during the investigation.
New Glarus Area EMS Chief Kristie Mueller did not respond to requests for comment.
Ingham was arrested Wednesday and remains in custody. Charges against him have not yet been officially filed.
