MONROE - Craig Foreback resigned from the Green County Board of Supervisors, effective Monday, Oct. 12, according to the Green County Clerk's office.
Foreback represented District 29 on the board, which included Wards 1 and 2 in New Glarus.
In his letter of resignation, which was sent last week, Foreback said he left the board because he moved out of the district. He and his wife moved to Dane County. Foreback is the senior lecturer for the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Wisconsin.
He was elected to the board in April 2008. He received two write-in votes out of nine write-in votes cast. He served as a member of the New Glarus Board from November 2001 to April 2005.
Foreback served on the Green County Pleasant View Nursing Home Committee and the Green County Health Committee.
The Green County Board will accept his resignation at its Tuesday meeting.
Once the resignation is accepted, Board Chairman Art Carter and Green County Clerk Mike Doyle will begin to talk to people in the district to see if anyone is interested in filling the position, which is up for election in April.
Anyone interested in serving as a board member from District 29 can contact Carter at 325-5433 or Doyle at 328-9430.
