Football pairings announced

MADISON - Brodhead-Juda and Pecatonica-Argyle will be at home. The rest of the local football teams in the WIAA 2008 Football Playoffs will be on the road.

The WIAA on Friday morning released the brackets for the playoffs, which begin with first-round games at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Brodhead-Juda (7-2) and Pecatonica-Argyle (7-2) both are No. 3 seeds in their divison brackets. The Cardinals will host Kettle Moraine Lutheran (6-3) in a Division 4 first-round game Tuesday, while the Vikings will host Wayland Academy (8-1) in a Division 6 opener Tuesday.

Black Hawk, Darlington and New Glarus-Monticello will be on the road. Each will play a top seed in their bracket.

Black Hawk (6-3) will travel to Catholic Central (9-0) in Division 7. Darlington (5-4) will play at Lancaster (8-1). New Glarus-Monticello's assignment is to visit Prairie du Chien (6-3).
