Flood warning for Pecatonica River

MONROE - The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flood warning this morning for the Pecatonica River that is in effect until May 2.

According to the NWS, the river was at 12.5 feet, one foot below flood stage.

The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning and continue to rise to more than 16 feet by early Tuesday morning. The river will return below flood stage by Thursday.

County MM and West Indies Road will be affected by the flooding.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected for the remainder of today. There is a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain.

Saturday is expected to be partly sunny with a 40 percent chance of rain Saturday night. More rain is expected Sunday.
