DARLINGTON - The Darlington school board Monday night narrowed its search for a superintendent to five candidates.
Current District Administrator Joe Galle retired two years ago, but returned for two one-year terms as superintendent when the board failed to find a suitable replacement.
"If the board doesn't feel good about the candidates, they might try to twist my arm again," Galle said. "But it might take a lot of twisting this time."
Galle declined to release the candidates' names until the interviews are set up for April 7-8. He said four of the candidates are male and one is a female. Four of the candidates are current administrators, he said.
