MONROE - The victims of an April house fire still are seeking help.
The home of Gordon and Mary Letheby at N525 Haddinger Road suffered significant damage April 18 due to an apparent lightning strike about 20 minutes before the fire was reported.
The Lethebys' daughter, Penny Grinnell, said she has been overwhelmed with phone calls from people willing to help.
Anyone wishing to donate money or other items to the Lethebys can drop them off to Brian Stackpole at Hobby Depot, 835 17th St. in Monroe. Hobby Depot's phone number is 325-5107.
Grinnell recommends gift cards for her parents, so they can purchase items as needed rather than having "stacks of boxes of stuff with nowhere to put it."
"People have been so awesome so far," Grinnell said.
