NEW GLARUS - A portion of County H between Disch Road and Zentner Road remains closed Wednesday after a fertilizer tank overturned and spilled liquid fertilizer.
According to Green county Sheriff Randy Roderick, a preliminary investigation indicated a farm tractor was pulling a fertilizer applicator, with a fertilizer tank behind it.
The hitch to the fertilizer tank broke and the tank overturned. The fertilizer tank contained about 950 gallons of liquid fertilizer, which has a nitrogen mix.
