MONROE - The Green County Fair Association will be distributing 20 shares of stock through a public drawing until a total of 116 unissued shares, along with any accumulated shares, are issued.
Members who already own a share are not eligible to participate in the drawing.
The Fair Association is attempting to increase the number of shareholders, as well as interest in and support for the county fair.
Individuals interested in obtaining a share need to register at the fair office beginning in June. The fair office will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on June 2, 16, 21, 23 and 28.
The $40 shares will be issued in a drawing at 11 a.m. on July 2. Participants whose names are drawn will have until July 9 to pay for their share.
The fair secretary will assist individuals (must be at least 18 years old) who wish to register for a share.
Except for shares sold by individuals, all shares will be issued through the annual drawing. Any shares purchased or transferred after November 2006 are not eligible for a stockholder pass.
