Extension to host planning meeting for industrial hemp

DARLINGTON — The UW-Division of Extension and WI DATCP are planning a meeting to discuss the latest industrial hemp information for those interested in growing industrial hemp in 2019.

The meeting is slated from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at the Lafayette County Hilltop Center, 11974 Ames Rd., Darlington. 

Shelby Ellison, from the UW Horticulture department will be joined by Melody Walker, from WI DATCP to share information and answer questions. The 2019 growing season will be reviewed, studying late season agronomic considerations and discussing pre-harvest planning. 

Register for the meeting by emailing joshua.kamps@wisc.edu or call the Extension office at 608-776-4820. There is no cost for the event and drinks and snacks will be provided. 

An Industrial Hemp online discussion will be at the Lafayette County Hilltop Center on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. Lafayette County Extension Ag Educator, Josh Kamps will be showing the live workshop on the display screen. He will take questions and share the answers Friday, Aug. 9.
