MONROE - The Green County's Energy Assistance Program is being offered to those needing help with fuel costs.
As of Oct. 1, eligible households will receive a benefit towards their heating and electric usage that is sent directly to the heating and electric vendors used by the household. These benefits are designed to pay part of the yearly energy costs for a household.
Energy Assistance eligibility is based on the income of the household (no asset test) and the income chart can be used to determine if people are eligible for the program. The previous three month's income will be used to determine eligibility for Energy Assistance.
The income guidelines for the 2012-13 Wisconsin Home Energy Program heating season are:
A household of one with a one-month income at or below $2,024, a three-month income at or below $6,071 and an annual income at or below $24,282.
A household of two with a one-month income at or below $2,646, a three-month income at or below $7,939 and an annual income at or below $31,754.
A household of three with a one-month income at or below $3,269, a three-month income at or below $9,806 and an annual income at or below $39,225.
A household of four with a one-month income at or below $3,891, a three-month income at or below $11,674 and an annual income at or below $ 46,697.
A household of five with a one-month income at or below $4,514, a three-month income at or below $13,542 and an annual income at or below $54,169.
A household of six with a a one-month income at or below $5,137, a three-month income at or below $15,410 and an annual income at or below $61,640.
A household of seven with a one month income at or below $5,253, a three-month income at or below $15,760 and an annual income at or below $63,041.
A household of eight with a one-month income at or below $5,370, a three-month income at or below $16,111 and an annual income at or below $64,442.
