During the week of July 25, Voegeli Landscaping continued with the construction of the retaining walls along 8th Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue. Voegeli completed the construction of the retaining wall along the north side of 8th Street from the bridge to 10th Avenue. They installed approximately 100 feet of retaining wall varying from 4 feet to 8 feet in height.

Rock Road Companies started the final shaping of the slopes on the back side of the north retaining wall and along the Badger Trail. The curb and gutter contractor, Parisi Construction Co., installed approximately 3,200 lineal feet of curb and gutter from 10th Avenue to 16th Avenue. Once the curb and gutter reached a minimum of five-day cure time, Rock Road started to ramp up all driveways to reinstate access for businesses and homeowners.

Next week, Rock Road Companies should start backfilling behind the curb and gutter and preparing for sidewalk construction. Voegeli Landscaping will continue with retaining wall installation and dirt work behind the walls along 8th Street working towards completion at 10th Avenue in preparation for the installation of fencing behind the retaining walls. The electrical contractor, Westphal and Company Inc., is scheduled to start installing bases for the street lighting and traffic signals from 8th Avenue to 16th Avenue.

All businesses are open during construction and ready for your patronage. All intersections will remain open the majority of the time, with the barricades being offset to allow for cross traffic. Please feel free to call the engineering department at 329-2532 if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
