DARLINGTON - Piggly Wiggly of Darlington and the Darlington Vacation Bible School (VBS) Committee have partnered to help make this summer's Vacation Bible School and Go Fish concert free.

Committee members are selling raffle tickets for a shopping spree at Piggly Wiggly scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16. The winner will earn the opportunity to fill one shopping cart as full as they can in 10 minutes. Raffle tickets are $10 and are available at all Darlington banks and at the Piggly Wiggly.

A food pantry representative will also have the chance to fill a cart during the same time period.

Through fundraising events like this one and through a number of donors within the community, the VBS Committee announced that the entire two-week event, which includes the Vacation Bible School and a concert with family entertainers Go Fish, will be paid for in full prior to its start. The committee has decided all proceeds raised at the concert will be dedicated to food pantries in Lafayette County.

The VBS runs from Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. The Go Fish concert will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at the Darlington Festival Grounds. More information is available at www.darlingtonumc.org.
