MONROE - Just shy of its first birthday, Bullquarian Brewhouse has made enough of an impression to eventually make its way onto TV screens across Wisconsin.

The microbrewery hosted a two-person crew from "Discover Wisconsin," a show that promotes Wisconsin tourism, to watch their brew process and to get some shots of a jam session with The Blarney Tones, a local group that plays traditional Irish music April 4. Bullquarian will be featured along with various other places throughout Green County and will air in May 2019.

"It was a little odd," said Ethan Kister, owner and brewmaster. "But they've been a great group of people to work with."

Jessica Murphy, a producer for the show, said she was enjoying the small town atmosphere. She said they had also been to Minhas Craft Brewery earlier that day, which will be included in the same episode.

Kister said he was approached by Discover Wisconsin about three-and-a-half months ago. Noreen Rueckert, director of Green County Tourism, was the person who recommended Bullquarian be featured.

"It's got a flavor that's a natural fit for our area and I think they're doing cool things," Rueckert said. "Especially the entertainment and live music, which is something the bigger breweries don't bring to the table."

Rueckert said the show will focus on Green County as a whole. Discover Wisconsin will be making its way to the National Historical Cheesemaking Center, Edelweiss Creamery, the New Glarus Hotel, Emmi Roth, along with Puempel's Olde Tavern and Baumgartner's Cheese Story & Tavern, among others.

Bullquarian will be featured along with the larger Minhas and New Glarus Breweries.

"It's very in-tune with our brand - cheese, beer and Swiss heritage," Rueckert said. "It's always been great publicity and we've always enjoyed working with them in the past."

Kister said he enjoyed getting to be part of the show and was glad Rueckert had recommended the brewery.

"It's a wonderful honor," Kister said. "I'm glad they included us and feel like we're an important part of the community."
