Defense requests teen to be tried as a juvenile
State has until Jan. 29 to file a brief in opposition of the motion for closure

MONROE — Logan Kruckenberg-Anderson joined via Zoom from the juvenile detention center where he is detained for a preliminary hearing Jan. 20. 

Defending attorney Guy Taylor requested that Kruckenberg-Anderson be waived out of adult criminal court into juvenile court and that there be closure to the public. Kruckenberg-Anderson turned 16 in May of 2020.

The State has until Jan. 29 to file a brief in opposition of the motion for closure.

A preliminary hearing on the issue of closure is set for Feb. 5.

Kruckenberg-Anderson was arrested Jan. 10 in the death of his newborn daughter. He has been charged with one count of first degree intentional homicide and one count of moving/hiding/burying the corpse of a child. If convicted, Kruckenberg-Anderson faces life in prison. He is currently being held at the Rock County Juvenile Detention Center on a cash bond of $1 million.
