Debate, forum for Assembly candidates

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Pecatonica Parent Teacher Association will host a debate for local Assembly candidates at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the high school library.

Candidates attending are 80th District candidates, Rep. Brett Davis, R-Oregon, and John Waelti, D-Monroe; and 51st District candidates, Rep. Steve Hilgenberg, D-Dodgeville, and Nathan Russell, R-Sauk City.

The debate will focus on educational issues.

Also, a forum with Davis and Waelti will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Twining Valley Retirement Community, 700 Eighth Ave., in Monroe. Each candidate will be given about 15 minutes to speak and then people will be able to ask questions. The event is hosted by Twining Valley Retirement Community.
