Deadline to order trees is Feb. 13

MONROE - The last day to order trees through Green County Land and Water Conservation Department is Feb. 13.

There are eight varieties of deciduous and conifer trees to choose from along with two varieties of shrubs. Trees are planned to arrive April 22, depending on weather, planting this spring.

The varieties are: Bur Oak, Red Oak, White Oak, Tamarack, Sugar Maple, Butternut (White Walnut), Shagbark Hickory, Sycamore, White Pine, Kentucky Coffee, Hazelnut and Nannyberry. The trees will be bare root, and range in size from 1.5 to 4 feet tall.

The cost is $2 a tree with a minimum order of 10 of one species.
