DARLINGTON - The Darlington school board Tuesday night decided to add a snow day to the end of the school year.

The last day of school in Darlington now will be Friday, June 6, according to board President Bill McDaniel. He said teachers will report back for their final day on Monday, June 9.

The board took no action on their search for a superintendent to replace Joe Galle, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

McDaniel did not know when the superintendent search would again come up on a board or committee agenda.

On Monday night, the board narrowed the candidates for superintendent to four. They are:

• Christopher Thomalla, superintendent of the Elcho school district. His district is consolidating with another and his position will be eliminated.

• Christopher Nelson, superintendent at Rice Lake.

• Linda Erickson, curriculum supervisor in Darlington.

• Gordon Geurink, interim superintendent at Cochrane-Fountain City.
