Darlington offers reminder about 2016 dog licenses

DARLINGTON - Officials with the City of Darlington wish to remind dog owners to stop into the city office to get 2016 dog licenses.

Wisconsin state law requires that all dogs be vaccinated and licensed. The only way to receive a license is to provide proof of vaccination to the local governing authority.

Dog tags are issued once a dog is licensed.

The tags help identify the dog and aid in the return to its owner in the event the dog is lost. The tags also help to prove whether a dog is

vaccinated if the dog bites someone.

Dogs caught without a license are subject to being impounded, and the dog's owner may be fined.
