DARLINGTON - A Darlington passenger was killed Saturday after a one-vehicle drunk-driving rollover crash in the Town of New Diggings.
Patricio Soto-Alarcon, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash that was reported at 3:24 a.m. in the 26000 block of Wis. 11.
Two other Darlington men in the car, Mateo Fuentes Flores, 22, and Hiliberto Fuentes Cervantes, 22, sustained minor injuries.
According to a Lafayette County Sheriff news release, the crash was determined to have occurred after Flores' vehicle struck the guardrail on the right. The vehicle then crossed to the other side of the road, where it struck an embankment and rolled over, coming to rest upside-down.
First responders found Soto-Alarcon, who was the front-seat passenger in the vehicle, dead at the scene.
Flores was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second offense, driving with a revoked license causing death, and homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation.
