MONROE - A Darlington man was killed Monday in a crash at the intersection of County C and J in the Town of Adams.
Jonathan M. Austin, 49, failed to stop at the intersection Monday evening and left the roadway, striking a tree in a nearby ditch.
The accident was discovered at 8:14 p.m. when a passing driver saw the vehicle.
Green County EMS and the Argyle Fire Department were dispatched to the accident, but Austin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Austin's failure to stop was the result of wet pavement and low visibility due to dense fog, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.
This is Green County's second traffic fatality of the year.
