DARLINGTON - A Darlington man was charged Wednesday with first-degree sexual assault of a child after an investigation into an incident in 2015.
Etelberto Flores-Garcia, 48, was charged with a Class B felony county of first-degree child sexual assault and a related Class C felony after a pre-teen girl told police of an incident in October 2015.
According to the girl, she awoke to find Flores-Garcia naked and groping her chest and genitals on Oct. 12, 2015.
She said Flores-Garcia then forced her to perform sex acts on him.
The victim also said there had been at least three other subsequent occasions where Flores-Garcia attempted to grope her.
The maximum possible sentence for Flores-Garcia's charges is 65 years in prison.
