Darlington EMS

DARLINGTON — The Green County EMS Darlington Station has released its year end numbers for 2018.

The numbers show a busy and successful year end and break down as follows. Between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31, volunteers responded to 155 calls for service. On 16 occasions, volunteers received emergency calls that required both ambulances to be in service at the same time.

This happens when two separate 911 calls are received at the same time or when a single incident requires more than one ambulance.

On 13 occasions, the severity of the call required volunteers to intercept with a Green County Paramedic Unit or Med Flight in the field. This happens when a patient’s condition is critical, and the volunteers determine the patient would benefit from advanced life support services.

The top 10 patient call types were ranked as follows: 31 transportation incidents, 27 falls, 13 pain, 11 seizures, 10 fainting/weakness, 10 heart/cardiac, eight other injuries/bleeding, seven breathing problem, five for stroke and five alcohol or drug-related problems.
