MONROE - The Green County Ag Chest, sponsor of the county's Dairy Queen program since 1955, will host a mandatory informational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Peppercorn Restaurant/Ludlow Mansion, 1417 Mansion Drive, for all girls interested in applying to be a community Dairy Queen.
Applicants must be a sophomore, junior or senior in high school during the 2015-16 school year. Interviews for all community dairy queens will take place at the Extension Office at the Justice Center on May 16. Selection of Green County's Dairy Queen and Princess, from among the eleven community Dairy Queens, will take place June 26 in Albany.

Albany: May 23, after parade, across from library, 200 Water St.
Brooklyn: June 4, 6:30 p.m., Brooklyn Methodist Church ice cream social, Rutland Avenue
Juda: June 4, 7:45 p.m., park, High School Road. In case of rain, it will be in the Community Center
Monroe: June 5, 6 p.m., Square. In case of rain, it will be at Grace Lutheran Church
Monticello: June 5, 7 p.m., Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E Lake Ave.
Argyle: June 5, 7 p.m., EMS Building, 4-H ice cream social
Belleville: June 9, 7:30 p.m., library park/4-H ice cream social
New Glarus : June 9, 6 p.m., Veterans Building, 1121 2nd St.
Brodhead: June 13, 1 p.m., Veterans Park, corner of Main and 12th

The announcement of the queen and princess culminates the Dairy Day activities, hosted this year by Albany. Other activities include the Dairy Day Cattle Show, which will take place at 9:30 a.m. June 20 at the Green County Fairgrounds, Monroe. The Queen's Brunch will take place at the Albany Lion's Club on June 27, starting with "Moo Tails" at 9 a.m. RSVPs for the brunch should be directed to Sue Rieder at pines@tds.net. The Dairy Day Parade will start at 1:30 p.m. that day. The crowning of the County Dairy Queen and Princess will immediately follow at the Albany Ball Park.
