DARLINGTON — A two-vehicle accident Nov. 29 in Darlington caused one car to roll on its side, trapping the driver inside until firefighters could extricate her.
The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m., according to a Darlington Police Department report.
Donna K. Smith, 77, Darlington, was eastbound on Minerva Street in her 2018 Buick when she collided with a northbound 2018 Dodge on Clay Street driven by Janelle L. Johnson, 33, Darlington.
Johnson was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way at the intersection.
The collision caused Smith’s Buick to overturn, trapping her inside until firefighters arrived to free her from the car.
Smith escaped serious injury and was treated and released on scene by ambulance medics, police said. The Buick was severely damaged and towed away by Al’s Towing.
Johnson and her passengers were uninjured. Her Dodge sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
