MADISON (AP) - Green County's unemployment rate increased slightly in May.
The county's rate went up one-tenth of a percent from 9.3 percent to 9.4 percent, compared to April. The county ranks 30th in the state, according to the state Department of Workforce Development.
Lafayette County, by contrast, improved its unemployment rate. The county's rate declined from 7.2 percent in April to 7 percent in May.
Unemployment rates increased slightly in Wisconsin's two largest cities last month.
The statewide unemployment rate was 8.7 percent in May, down from 8.8 percent in April.
