MONROE - The sixth annual Green County Fall National Truck and Tractor Pull will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Green County Fairgrounds.

The event starts at noon and will last until about 7 p.m. The band Cherry Pie will perform at 8 p.m., rain or shine. In case of rain, tractor pull tickets purchased will be honored in 2013.

The line-up for the pull includes Badger State classes: Pro Stocks, Limited Pro Stocks, Light Limited Super Stock, Pro Farm, Diesel Super Stock trucks and 466 Hot Farm. The NTPA and PPL classes will include Light SuperStocks, TWD mod trucks and returning Mini Rods. The event is expected to draw tractor pullers from eight states.

There is free parking and camping is available on the grounds.

Advance tickets are on sale for $15, which includes the pull, the band and a chance at a drawing which includes many prizes. There are only 2,000 advance tickets available. Tickets purchased the day of the show are not entered in the drawing and the cost to get into the band will be an additional $5.

The drawing features a grand prize of a Hustler 42-inch zero turn mower, a retail value of $3,899. Other prizes include a 50-inch LG plasma TV; a Budweiser mini fridge; a four-piece cordless tool kit; and two Lithium ion heated jackets.

The event is a fundraiser that donates 100 percent of profits to local charitable efforts, organizers said. In 2012, the group donated to a number of local families and groups including: $1,000 to Green County Crimestoppers; donating a grocery card to a young woman in Belleville diagnosed with cancer who was raising two children alone following the death of her husband; and providing assistance with monthly living expenses to a family whose child is undergoing a lung removal.
