BRODHEAD - City officials met in closed session for more than three hours Tuesday to discuss the reappointment of Jay Bohan, the city's fire chief.

As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, the city council remained in closed session at city hall. Further details were not available before press time.

The council first met in closed session July 12 to discuss his performance.

The council decided to continue evaluating Bohan's performance Tuesday following its meeting last week, according to a statement from Mayor Doug Pinnow July 13. The evaluation included determining his reappointment, the statement said.

City Attorney Mark Schroeder said July 12 a mediator is involved in reference to the fire chief and "some individuals" but declined to elaborate.
